Open Application for Bitcoiners - future opportunities

Open Application for Bitcoiners - future opportunities

Don't see the perfect role? Good. We are not only hiring for roles. We are looking for Bitcoiners who want to help usher in the bitcoin golden age.

At Shakepay, the mission is not a poster on the wall. It runs through how we hire, how we make decisions, and how we ship products Canadians love. When a project is considered for our roadmap, we ask a plain question: will this get more Canadians owning bitcoin?

The app, the card, recurring buys, cash interest paid in bitcoin, and the rituals that make stacking feel intuitive all point in the same direction. We are building the easiest, most trusted way for Canadians to own bitcoin and build a better relationship with money.

Why this role exists

This is an open application for people who are deeply aligned with bitcoin and want to work on the mission before the perfect job title exists.

We may not have the exact role open today. But the right people do not always arrive exactly when a headcount plan says they should. If you have high agency, strong taste, and a track record of making things better, we want to know you.

Why a bitcoiner should join Shakepay

Because we mean it. Shakepay is a bitcoin company building for a future where more Canadians save, think, and plan differently.

The world's fiat monetary system pushes people to borrow and spend for today instead of saving for the future. Bitcoin is a return to a proper savings account. One that actually saves. Its limited supply gives people a way to preserve value, build wealth, and think further into the future.

We believe the widespread adoption of bitcoin as the monetary standard will profoundly change how Canadians save for the future. Through that cultural change, we believe we can help usher in a period of human flourishing.

Who this is for

You might be a fit if you:

• Believe bitcoin is the best form of money, not just another asset
• Care about self-custody, running a node, and long-term adoption
• Have high agency and a bias toward action
• Have built, shipped, fixed, or improved things that actually mattered
• Can hold a strong point of view without needing a title to make it count
• Are motivated by the mission, not just the next promotion cycle
• Do not fit neatly into one job title, and have the receipts to prove why that is useful

Where you could contribute

We are interested in exceptional people across:

• Engineering
• Design
• Growth, marketing, and community
• Customer operations
• Compliance, Finance, People, or something we have not defined yet

If you see a way to make Shakepay better, tell us what you would build, fix, or improve, why it matters for bitcoin adoption, and what you have done that proves you can execute.

What to include in your application

• A clear, concise introduction
• Why you want to work on bitcoin, and why at Shakepay

• Examples of things you have shipped, built, or made better
• The strongest evidence that you can execute without waiting for permission

This is not a generic resume drop. Only apply if you’re obsessed with the mission.

We understand that potential can be just as valuable as experience. If you're eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the mission but worry that you may not have the “right” experience, we still want you to apply.

We encourage applications from everyone, regardless of background and life experience. We’re firm believers that a little bit of slope makes up for a lot of y-intercept.

Fluency in English is required due to the percentage of English-speaking customers and the nature of our platform, which is available to all Canadians.
