Blockchain analytics platform Dune has launched real-time market data feeds covering more than 200 onchain trading venues, aiming to integrate decentralized market activity into traditional financial institutions' trading systems. The new service provides trade data from 12 blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, and XLayer, with a latency of roughly one second after execution, according to a Thursday announcement.
The feeds encompass spot trading across decentralized exchanges as well as perpetual futures trading on platforms such as Hyperliquid and Lighter. They offer standardized data on prices, trade sizes, and transaction details across these markets. Dune co-founder and CEO Fredrik Haga stated that quant funds, market makers, asset managers, and bank trading desks are among the first clients using the service, though he declined to identify specific firms due to nondisclosure agreements. These institutions utilize the data to assess liquidity, compare prices across venues, and evaluate trading strategies before committing capital.
Haga noted that most institutions are monitoring onchain markets because they cannot properly price assets without this visibility. He expects direct onchain trading to increase as liquidity improves and regulatory frameworks evolve. This launch occurs amidst rapid growth in the tokenized stock market, which reached $3.58 billion in distributed value according to RWA.xyz data, up from approximately $627 million a year earlier. However, the sector faces challenges, including fragmented liquidity and issuer objections. Recently, 16 companies, including Microsoft, Alphabet, and Goldman Sachs, filed objections to having their shares traded on OKXICE, a proposed tokenized stock platform by a joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange.
Dune’s introduction of low-latency, standardized data for over 200 onchain venues addresses a critical infrastructure gap for institutional investors seeking exposure to decentralized finance. By providing near-real-time visibility into spot and perpetual futures markets across major blockchains, the platform enables traditional entities like banks and hedge funds to perform rigorous pre-trade analysis and risk assessment. This move signals a maturation of the crypto data ecosystem, shifting from retail-focused dashboards to enterprise-grade tools capable of supporting algorithmic trading and complex liquidity management strategies.
The timing of this launch coincides with significant turbulence in the broader digital asset landscape, particularly regarding tokenized equities. While the total value of tokenized stocks has surged nearly 470% year-over-year, structural issues such as market fragmentation and legal disputes with issuers remain unresolved. Dune’s ability to aggregate cross-chain data may help mitigate some inefficiencies caused by fragmentation, but it also highlights the growing tension between decentralized market mechanics and traditional corporate governance. Institutions adopting these feeds must navigate not only technical integration but also the evolving regulatory and legal uncertainties surrounding onchain asset representation.
